Wapse è un villaggio nella provincia olandese di Drenthe. Fa parte del comune di Westerveld e si trova a circa 21 km a nord-ovest di Hoogeveen. Il villaggio è stato menzionato per la prima volta nel 1384 come "Johanni de Wapse". L'etimologia è sconosciuta. Wapse è un esdorp circolare dell'Alto Medioevo. C'erano cinque frazioni attorno al pascolo comune centrale.
