Sint Joost è un borgo ecclesiastico nel Medio-Limburgo con 1.440 abitanti. Fino al 1989 era diviso tra il comune di Maasbracht e il comune di Echt. Successivamente è stato interamente assegnato al comune di Echt. È uno dei borghi ecclesiastici intorno a Echt e ora appartiene al comune di Echt-Susteren. Sint Joost prende il nome dal santo Giudoco. Il villaggio è nato intorno al 1300, quando fu fondato un monastero caulitano, di cui l'attuale Kloosterhof è un resto. Nel XVII secolo c'era un mulino ad acqua tra Montfort e St. Joost sul Vlootbeek che però non è esistito per più di un secolo.
