Afferden è un comune nel nord della Limburgia olandese ed è parte del comune di Bergen. Questo villaggio si trova lungo il fiume Mosa, a 26 chilometri a sud di Nijmegen e a 12 chilometri a nord di Venray. Afferden contava nel 2021 2.125 abitanti. Il villaggio di Afferden, situato sulla riva destra del Mosa, fa parte del comune Limburgio di Bergen dal 1823. È situato circa a metà strada tra Nijmegen e Venlo. In passato faceva parte della regione di Gelderland ed era delimitato a nord dalla Signoria di Kleve Heijen, a sud dalla Signoria di Gelderland Well e a est dall'ufficio di Goch, a cui apparteneva Siebengewald. Il confine esatto fu stabilito nel 1436 dalla giustizia e dagli anziani. Questo confine "Beleijdinge" registrato in un antico documento divenne la base per successivi accordi di confine.
