Neeritter è un villaggio nella municipalità di Leudal, in Limburg Centrale. Confina con il villaggio belga di Kessenich. A ovest del centro abitato si trova il vicino agglomerato 'de Heioord'. Neeritter viene fondato dopo il 1100 per iniziativa del capitolo di Lambertus a Liegi, che in quel momento è già in possesso delle vicine aree di Kessenich e Thorn. Nel 1143 appare la prima menzione scritta: Itera nova ovvero 'Nuovo-Itteren'. Le preposizioni 'Nuovo-' e 'Neer-' servono a distinguere dal primo Itteren, che si trova a monte del torrente Itterbeek e che sarà chiamato successivamente 'Opitter'.
