Neeritter ist ein Kirchdorf in der Gemeinde Leudal in Mittel-Limburg. Es grenzt an das belgische Dorf Kessenich. Westlich des Dorfkerns liegt die zugehörige Nachbarschaft 'de Heioord'. Neeritter wurde nach 1100 auf Initiative des Lambertuskapitels in Lüttich gegründet, das zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits im Besitz der benachbarten Gebiete Kessenich und Thorn war. 1143 erscheint die erste schriftliche Erwähnung: Itera nova, oder 'Neu-Itteren'. Die Präfixe 'Neu-' und 'Neer-' dienen dazu, es von dem ersten Itteren zu unterscheiden, das flussaufwärts von der Itterbeek liegt und später 'Opitter' genannt wird.
