Posterholt è un paese parrocchiale nel Limburgo olandese situato a circa 10 chilometri a sud-est della città di Roermond e al confine con la Germania. Con circa 3.930 abitanti, è il secondo comune più grande del comune di Roerdalen. Fino al 1991, Posterholt era anche un comune autonomo. Prima dell'epoca francese, Posterholt insieme al paese vicino di Vlodrop formava una giurisdizione locale.
