Vreeland è un pittoresco paesino che ha saputo mantenere bene il suo carattere storico. Il villaggio è nato nel medioevo attorno al castello di Vredeland. Questo fu costruito dal vescovo di Utrecht per difendere il suo territorio dal suo sempre più potente signore vassallo Gijsbrecht van Amstel. Il paesino ottenne i diritti di città nel 1265, quasi 750 anni fa. Una passeggiata per il villaggio, pieno di splendide case con giardini lungo l'acqua, una chiesetta del XVI secolo e accoglienti terrazze e locali da pranzo, merita davvero.
A Vreeland puoi ormeggiare sul lato nord del ponte Van Leer, per un massimo di 3 x 24 ore. Sul lato sud possono ormeggiare solo gli ospiti del ristorante De Nederlanden. Nel pittoresco villaggio puoi scendere per acquistare qualcosa di buono nel supermercato, curiosare nei negozi di abbigliamento e regali o nel mercato francese dell'antiquariato, oppure per fermarti in uno dei terrazzi dei tre ristoranti di cui è ricco il villaggio.
