Il Leeuwarder Courant è il più grande quotidiano regionale della Frisia ed è pubblicato da Mediahuis Noord. Il giornale è stato fondato nel 1752 ed è quindi il più antico giornale nei Paesi Bassi che opera con lo stesso titolo. La LC è principalmente in lingua olandese, ma ci sono anche articoli in lingua frisona. Inoltre, le citazioni frisoni sono presentate nella loro forma originale e senza traduzione esplicativa.
