Come spesso accade con le proprietà come Randenbroek, è successo anche qui. Inizialmente c'era una fattoria contadina che, grazie alla sua posizione favorevole, poteva trasformarsi in una maestosa villa. Il 'broek' è un termine che deriva da un'area paludosa, in questo caso situata alla base di un pendio dell'Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Nel XVII secolo, il pittore Jacob van Campen visse a Randenbroek. Due secoli dopo, H. van Lunteren, il noto architetto paesaggistico, divenne residente di Randenbroek. La sua predilezione per i parchi in stile paesaggistico inglese ha trovato espressione anche qui. La casa è stata restaurata per l'ultima volta nel 1959.
