Como suele suceder en lugares como Randenbroek, aquí también ocurrió lo mismo. Primero había una granja que, debido a su ubicación favorable, pudo convertirse en una majestuosa mansión. 'Broek' es un nombre que proviene de una zona pantanosa, en este caso situada al pie de una pendiente de la Utrechtse Heuvelrug. En el siglo XVII, el pintor Jacob van Campen vivió en Randenbroek. Dos siglos después, H. van Lunteren, el famoso arquitecto paisajista, fue residente de Randenbroek. Su afición por los parques en estilo paisajístico inglés también la plasmó aquí. La casa fue restaurada por última vez en 1959.
