Il Mark nasce presso Zandvenheide a Koekhoven, un piccolo villaggio belga vicino a Merksplas.
La zona sorgente del Mark, la zona paludosa di Turnhout forma il confine idrografico tra la Mosa (Dommel e Mark) e la Sceldia (Nete).
Attraverso Hoogstraten e Minderhout, dove il Mark forma per un certo periodo il confine nazionale tra Belgio e Paesi Bassi, il torrente alla fine giunge al palo di confine 218, appena a sud del ponte Mark tra Meersel-Dreef e Galder, entrando definitivamente nel territorio olandese.
Nei Paesi Bassi, il Mark scorre verso Breda dove si immette nel canale di Breda nei pressi della strada Boeimeersingel.
