La chiesa parrocchiale di Samodães è una chiesa primitiva, le cui origini risalgono al IX secolo.
Samodães è orgogliosa del suo stato attuale. È il risultato della ricostruzione della prima chiesa , lavoro iniziato nel 1702 dal maestro Domingos Ferreira. Il tronco e il coro sono incorniciati da robuste chiavi di volta scolpite su frontoni (Vergílio Correia "Diário de Coimbra"). Presenta intagli di grande espressione artistica del XVIII secolo. Una bella copertura di statue dorate e policrome ricopre le parti superiori del coro e della navata, disposte in due ampie arcate, che ospitano la tribuna dell'altare maggiore, l'arco trionfale e gli altari laterali (Vergílio Correia, "Diário de Coimbra").
