Anche la statua di San Marco, secondo l'ordine tradizionale, lo raffigura con un libro nella mano sinistra.
Accanto a lui e presso la fontana abbiamo trovato un leone, simbolo di questo evangelista, simbolo di forza, saggezza e giustizia. Sotto la statua di San Marco si trova l'iscrizione latina: <<SICUT SCRIPTUM EST IN ISAIA PROPHETA... VOX CLAMANTIS IN DESERTO», tradotta come <<come è scritto nel profeta Isaia. Una voce che grida nel deserto >>.
Sul retro del piedistallo di questa statua di San Marco si trova un'iscrizione che commemora il meritorio lavoro di uno dei più grandi benefattori del santuario: <<ANNO 1767 ESSENDO UN ASSISTENTE E BENEFICIARIO MANUEL REBELO DA COSTA» . La costruzione di questo sito è stata possibile grazie alla benevolenza di questo confratello.
