La contea di Filadelfia è una ripartizione giudiziaria dello Stato della Pennsylvania, posta nella sua area sud-orientale. Dal 1854 il suo territorio corrisponde a quello della città di Filadelfia, e nel 1952 l’ente è stato soppresso affidandone i poteri al sindaco della metropoli.
La contea confina a nord con la contea di Montgomery e a nord-est con la contea di Bucks. Ad est e a sud si affaccia sul fiume Delaware che segna il confine con il New Jersey ed in particolare a est con la contea di Burlington, a sud-est con la contea di Camden e a sud con la contea di Gloucester. Infine ad ovest la contea confina con la contea di Delaware.
