Il massacro di Isla Vista è stata una strage commessa da uno studente universitario, Elliot Rodger , nella quale furono uccise 7 persone e ferite 14. L'epilogo del massacro fu il suicidio dell'esecutore.
Poco prima di compiere la strage, il 22enne Elliot Rodger caricò sul suo canale YouTube un video nel quale egli anticipava il massacro. A renderlo frustrato fu il fatto che egli non ebbe mai una ragazza ed era ancora vergine. Infatti, sempre nello stesso video, Rodger anticipa il massacro, asserendo di stare per compiere una strage come vendetta contro la società per il fatto di essere vergine. Egli, inoltre, frequentò alcuni forum online.
