In cima alla collina che domina l'intero quartiere storico si erge l'Eremo di San Roque, uno dei più antichi del sud di Tenerife. Le origini di questo eremo non sono chiare, ma si ritiene che sia stato costruito dalla famiglia Soler all'inizio del XVII secolo.
La cappella fu donata dalla famiglia Soler nel 1614. L'edificio era molto modesto, perché nel 1778 il visitatore Gaspar Álvarez de Castro indicò che doveva essere ampliato perché basso. Rimase comunque molto semplice con il suo campanile , così come si presenta ancora oggi.
