Het Salzburg Museum is een museum in de Oostenrijkse stad Salzburg. De collectie begon in 1834 met wat militaire objecten die opengesteld werden voor het publiek om de oorlog met Napoleon te herdenken. Na een revolutie in 1848 werd deze collectie officieel erkend als het stadsmuseum van Salzburg. In 1923 kreeg het museum via een donatie een groot aantal natuurhistorische objecten. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd het museum compleet verwoest door bombardementen. Een groot deel van de collectie is toen intact gebleven omdat het opgeborgen zat in bunkers. Vanaf 1967 werd de collectie gehuisvest in meerdere tijdelijke musea totdat in 1997 een nieuwe permanente locatie gekozen werd waar het museum in 2005 introk. In 2009 werd het uitgeroepen tot Europees museum van het jaar.
