Tubeke is een plaats en stad in de provincie Waals-Brabant in België.De gemeente telt ruim 26.000 inwoners en heeft als oppervlakte 32,66 km².De plaats wordt vermeld als Tweebeek in het Algemeen Nederduitsch en Friesch Dialecticon uit 1874, als liggende langs de taalgrens. De naam Tweebeek komt voort uit het feit dat de samenvloeiing van de Zenne en de Senette zich hier bevindt. Oudere vermeldingen zijn Thobacem en Tubecca met als Germaanse stammen *twô en *baki .
