De Sint-Maartenskerk gaat terug tot de 12de eeuw, maar werd in die negenhonderd jaar natuurlijk vele keren herbouwd en verbouwd. Je vindt er heel wat kunstschatten, maar het pronkstuk is zeker de 'Triptiek van de Heilige Geest' van Bernard de Rijckere uit 1587: een Pinkstertafereel met de doop van Jezus en de schepping van Adam. Erg indrukwekkend is ook de 6,50 meter hoge unieke sacramentstoren uit 1585.
Waardevolle religieuze voorwerpen, zoals 16de-eeuwse kazuifels en altaarbekledingen kan je gaan bekijken in de Sint-Elooiskapel, die ingericht is als schatkamer.
De eerste volwaardige beiaard van Kortrijk - 49 klokken - bevindt zich in de toren van de Sint-Maartenskerk.
