En eigenlijk begint dat heerlijke gevoel al wanneer je op rechteroever de Sint-Annatunnel instapt. 31 meter onder de Schelde verbindt de voetgangerstunnel sinds 1933 de stad met de Linkeroever. De houten roltrappen waren voor die tijd een echte nieuwigheid.
