Hier zijn we aangekomen in de Oudenaardse Heurnemeersen. Hier is het belangrijkste om de voeten goed droog te houden. De term 'meers' betekent inderdaad 'moeras' of 'vochtig weiland'. Dit prachtige gebied in de vallei heeft een grote verscheidenheid aan landschapselementen, zoals vier oude armen van de Schelde, weilanden afgewisseld met kleine bosjes, wildgroei, rijen wilgen en moerassen. Vrijetijdsbesteding, landbouw en visserij gaan hier perfect samen met de ontwikkeling van de natuur en landschappen.
