De Klinge is een dorp in de Belgische provincie Oost-Vlaanderen en een deelgemeente van Sint-Gillis-Waas. Het dorp grenst aan het Nederlandse Clinge in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. De Klinge telt zo'n 3550 inwoners en heeft een oppervlakte van 2,72 km².
De Klinge is een gemeente die omstreeks 1200 in de middeleeuwen ontstond. De eerste naam waaronder de huidige gemeente bekend was is Dorpe. Later werd de naam omgevormd tot De Klinge. Deze naam betekent landduin of zandophoping na de ijstijd.
