Gottem is een dorp in de Belgische provincie Oost-Vlaanderen en een deelgemeente van de stad Deinze. Het dorpje ligt aan de rivier de Leie, een paar kilometer stroomopwaarts voor Deinze.
Het dorp is zuiver agrarisch en leefde tot halfweg de 20ste eeuw hoofdzakelijk van de bloeiende vlasteelt langs de Leie. Dat het vandaag nog altijd langs een oude rivierarm verdoken ligt, dankt het vooral aan een dynamische actiegroep - met onder andere Roger Raveel -, zo niet had men ruim twintig jaar geleden alles dichtgegooid.
