Dottenijs is een plaats in de Belgische provincie Henegouwen en een deelgemeente van de Waalse stad Moeskroen. Het dorp ligt ruim vijf kilometer ten zuidoosten van Moeskroen-centrum.Bij het vastleggen van de taalgrens in 1963 werd Dottenijs ingedeeld als franstalig met taalfaciliteiten voor de nederlandstalige minderheid, als gevolg hiervan werd de toen nog zelfstandige gemeente van de provincie West-Vlaanderen overgeheveld naar Henegouwen.
