Een noodstopstrook is een rijstrook die soms wordt aangelegd op sterke afdalingen. Dit zijn stukken weg aan de rechterkant van de weg die eindigen in een grote zandbak. Hierdoor kunnen vrachtwagens die niet meer kunnen remmen toch op een veilige manier tot stilstand komen.
