Best mogelijk dat je de gevel van herberg De Kroon herkent. Hij figureerde namelijk iedere dag in de generiek van Man bijt hond.
De geschiedenis van het dorpscafé volgde decennialang het ritme van het dagelijkse leven in dit landelijke dorp. Enkele jaren voor de 20ste eeuw begon, werd hier de eerste pint getapt. Zeer waarschijnlijk gebeurde dit na de hoogmis, want dat is zo gebleven tot De Kroon op de radar kwam van de dagjestoeristen. Vaak werden ze gelokt door het beeld van Mullem zoals het in films en series op de televisie te zien was.
