Over Manneken Pis bestaan te veel legendes om op te noemen. Daarom vertel ik iets over de straat waarin het beeldje staat, namelijk de Stoofstraat of badhuisstraat. Inderdaad, onze voorouders kwamen naar hier afgezakt om warm te baden, iets wat niet veel gebeurde omdat ze bang waren van water dat volgens hen allerlei virale besmettingen kon veroorzaken. Maar als men dan eens een bad nam mocht het wat kosten en bracht men tevens een bezoek aan een van de vrouwen van lichte zeden die soms in hetzelfde badhuis werkzaam waren.
