Het in 2019 heraangelegde plein voor het gemeentehuis van Elsene is een lust voor het oog en dat is net wat men in deze druk bewoonde wijk nodig heeft. Het plein zorgt voor speelruimte, bomen, bloemen, fonteinen en caféterrassen. Vanuit het voormalige Malibran kasteeltje houdt de burgemeester een oogje in het zeil. Dit kasteeltje was een buitenverblijf van de violist Charles-Auguste de Bériot en werd in 1833 gebouwd. Hij vestigde zich er met zijn vriendin Maria Garcia Malibran, een beroemde zangeres. Na de dood van Maria in 1836 werd het kasteeltje in 1849 door de gemeente Elsene aangekocht die er het gemeentehuis van maakte.
