Gust Gils, 'De innerlijke urbanizatie'
Neoclassicistisch gebouw met Florentijnse renaissance-inspiratie (van stadsarchitect Louis Roelandt) op de plek van het oude Recollettenklooster, aan de samenvloeiing van Leie en Ketelvaart. De monumentale 'Salle des pas perdus' ging verloren in de verwoestende brand van 1926. Binnen de poëzieroute symbool voor de verdediging van slachtoffers en betichten.
Gust Gils (1924-2002) Vlaams prozaschrijver, dichter en beeldend kunstenaar. Medeoprichter van het avantgardetijdschrift Gard Sivik. Zijn werk is maatschappijkritisch, satirisch en grotesk. Een staalkaart van zijn poëzie in Mijn plichtvergeten werk (1994), zijn korte stukken 'paraproza' publiceerde hij in een zevental boeken. Driejaarlijkse Prijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap 1996. Plastische vormgeving van het gedicht door de Belgische kunstenaar Paul Van Gyseghem (1935)
