Deze vuurtoren, in de volksmond gekend als "Lange Nelle" is de vierde vuurtoren in de geschiedenis van Oostende en de derde op die locatie. De vuurtoren is 65 meter hoog, telt 324 treden en leidt sinds 1949 de vissers veilig de haven binnen. De vuurtoren werkt volledig automatisch.
