Voormalig negentiende-eeuws gemeentehuis, heden ingericht als openbare bibliotheek. Het gebouw, opgetrokken omstreeks 1850 naar ontwerp van architect Cordemans, omvatte in oorsprong ook de lokalen van de gemeenteschool; de ingang tot de school bevond zich in de linkerzijgevel, deze tot het gemeentehuis in de rechterzijgevel, zie oude prentkaarten. Nadat in het begin van de twintigste eeuw een nieuwe school werd gebouwd achter het gemeentehuis, Pastorijstraat 4, werd het geheel ingepalmd als gemeentehuis en van een nieuwe ingang voorzien centraal in de huidige voorgevel. In 1971 werd beslist om een nieuw gemeentehuis te bouwen omwille van de snelle bevolkingstoename, Pastorijstraat 21; het oude gemeentehuis werd aansluitend volledig gemoderniseerd en ingericht als bibliotheek.
