De kapel van de Heilige Lucia van Oosterlo ontstond waarschijnlijk als slotkapel bij het hof van de Berthouts. In 1270 stichtten Hendrik II Berthout van Oosterlo en zijn vrouw Aleidis er een kapelanie die later overgebracht werd naar de Sint-Dimpnakerk. Van 1536 tot 1872 hoorde Oosterlo bij de parochie Zammel.
