De Hoëgne is de eerste zijrivier van de Vesder. Deze bekende beek ontspringt op het plateau van de Hoge Venen, vlakbij Baraque Michel. De Hoëgne vallei is van groot botanisch belang, niet alleen voor de levermossen, mossen en varens die er te vinden zijn, maar ook voor een opmerkelijke bloemenrijkheid.
Het bospad werd aangelegd aan het einde van de 19e eeuw en ingehuldigd door koningin Marie-Henriette. Tijdens je wandeling ontdek je o.a. de oude brug “Le Centenaire”, een deel van de Hoëgne dat tot Belleheid een stortvloed is geworden, twee watervallen genoemd naar Koning Leopold II en zijn echtgenote ... (gemarkeerd wandelpad nr. 55).
