Dit fietspad wordt ook wel Hageland-Kempen Fietspad genoemd. In deze vroegere spoorbedding heb je als fietser geen last van het overige verkeer, tenzij natuurlijk bij de opeenvolgende kruisingen waar het 'gewone verkeer' voorrang heeft. Overigens zijn die kruisingen meestal veilig en op identieke wijze aangelegd, zodat ze makkelijk herkenbaar zijn. Bij de te kruisen weg staan er telkens geschrankte hekjes, zodat je niet onbezonnen voluit rechtdoor kunt fietsen. Vaak staan er ook borden met de bede 'fietsers snelheid minderen'. Op de weg die het fietspad kruist, is die kruising meestal in kasseistenen uitgevoerd, zodat het verkeer op die weg een minimale waarschuwing krijgt. Het fietspad loopt door een hoofdzakelijk groene omgeving.
