Het dorp Westoutre (nu Westouter) bleef in geallieerde handen van de eerste maanden van de Eerste Wereldoorlog tot de Wapenstilstand, maar in de zomer van 1918, na de gevechten aan de Leie, lag het op 2.4 kilometers van de frontlijn. Het kerkhof en de uitbreiding werden met tussenpozen gebruikt door ambulanciers en gevechtseenheden van november 1914 tot september 1918. De begraafplaats telt 98 Commonwealth graven van de Eerste Wereldoorlog en drie Duitse graven.
