Ridder Willem van Waelwyck kocht deze waterburcht in 1550, knapte ze op en vernoemde naar zijn geliefde Walburgis.
Later was dit kasteel ook nog textielfabriek en brouwerij.
Een prachtig slot te midden van het park. Hier kan je een gezellig een glaasje drinken en een hapje eten te midden van alle rust.
