'Het Elishoutbos was vroeger eigendom van de landsheren van Aa. Het belangrijkste deel van het Elishoutbos werd in het begin van de 14de eeuw door de familie van Aa aan de abdij van Vorst geschonken. De huidige Elishouthoeve werd meerdere keren uitgebreid en gerenoveerd. De huidige gebouwen dateren uit 1754. De gebouwen werden opgehoogd in verhouding tot de binnenkoer, ongetwijfeld omwille van de regelmatige overstromingen van de Zenne. De Elishouthoeve werd ingelijfd binnen het COOVI-complex, dat nu eigendom van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap (VGC) is. Het volledige complex blijft één van de beste voorbeelden van de grote abdijhoeves in de omgeving van Brussel.'
