Rond de jaren 2010 werd beslist dat in het vuurtorendok in Oostende een nieuwe jachthaven zou komen.
Doordat een aantal achtergelaten schepen nog moesten verwijderd worden liep één en ander vertraging op.
De nieuwe jachthaven past in de ontwikkeling van een nieuwe woonwijk op Oosteroever.
