Tegen de gevel aan de straatkant staat een bescheiden kapel, gemaakt van bakstenen die een nis omsluiten waarin een heel eenvoudig Mariabeeldje zit.
Deze uitbeelding van Maria is de voorstelling zoals beschreven door Catherine Labouré (1806-1876).Zij kreeg vanaf 1830, tijdens haar noviciaat, verschijningen van de Maagd, die haar aanraadde om de "Wonderdadige Medaille" te maken, die nog steeds verkrijgbaar is in de rue du Bas in Parijs.
De roem van deze Maagd (voor Lourdes in 1858) verspreidde zich als een lopend vuurtje en haar beeld sierde vele oratoria, zelfs de meest bescheiden zoals deze van Melles.
In 2014 werd deze kapel gerestaureerd en ingezegend door Abbés François en Le Maire.É.B.
