Dit werk, "Fontaine des enfants disparus", werd opgericht in 2000 tijdens de nasleep van de affaire Dutroux.
Het werd ontworpen door een lid van het gemeentepersoneel, Pierre-Jean Deffernez, en werd geïnstalleerd ter nagedachtenis aan Julie en Mélissa en alle vermiste kinderen. Het monument werd symbolisch voor het Paleis van Justitie geplaatst.
