Het beeld van het kerkplein wordt versterkt door de aanwezigheid van een opmerkelijk monument ter nagedachtenis aan de slachtoffers van de twee oorlogen, geflankeerd door een houwitser van 14-18. Het oorlogsmonument herdenkt de militaire en de burgerlijke slachtoffers van de Eerste en de Tweede Wereldoorlog. De tekst op het monument: "AUX / ENFANTS / DE LA / COMMUNE / DE / BOVIGNY / MORTS / POUR / LA / PATRIE". Dit monument werd ontworpen door architect Joseph Loutschen en uitgevoerd door steenkapper Jos.Marechal. Het werd werd ingehuldigd op 11 september 1921.
Bij het monument staat een Duitse 17cm loopgraaf-mortier.
Tijdens het Ardennenoffensief werd het dorp hardnekkig verdedigd door de Amerikaanse troepen.
