Description by the author

De gemeente Voeren is in 1977 door de gemeentelijke herindeling ontstaan. Ze telt ruim 4000 inwoners, waarvan ruim 25% buitenlanders, bijna allemaal mensen met de Nederlandse nationaliteit. De naam is ontleend aan de Voer, een zijriviertje van de Maas dat door de gemeente stroomt.
