Internationaal Instituut voor Managementontwikkeling is een business onderwijs instelling gevestigd in Lausanne, Zwitserland. Het is gespecialiseerd in executive education en biedt open inschrijvingsprogramma's voor senior executives, evenals langdurige educatieve engagements die zijn aangepast voor senior executives van een particulier bedrijf. IMD maakt geen deel uit van een universiteit, maar het biedt wel MBA- en Executive MBA-programma's.
IMD werd opgericht in januari 1990 door de fusie van onafhankelijke managementonderwijscentra International Management Institute, opgericht in 1946 door Alcan, en Institut pour l'Etude des Methodes de Direction de l'Entreprise Lausanne, opgericht in 1957 door Nestlé. De nieuwe organisatie, het Internationaal Instituut voor Managementontwikkeling, vestigde zich in Lausanne. De geschiedenis van IMEDE en de fusie met IMI is gedocumenteerd in Jean-Pierre Jeannet en Hein Schreuder. Het industriële erfgoed is ongebruikelijk voor business schools, die meestal aan universiteiten zijn verbonden.
