De Kölnturm is met 148,1 meter het hoogste kantoorgebouw in Keulen en na de Post Tower in Bonn het op één na hoogste gebouw in Noordrijn-Westfalen. Het werd in tweeënhalf jaar gebouwd, van 1 juni 1999 tot 21 november 2001, in het Kölner Mediapark. Het gebouwcomplex in de wijk Keulen-Neustadt-Nord moet de stad Keulen als mediastad versterken en bedrijven uit de sector kantoor-, congres- en conferentieruimten bieden. Het dakterras op de 30e verdieping is publiek toegankelijk voor bezoekers van het restaurant daar.
