De Bad Hersfelder Festspiele vinden jaarlijks plaats van midden juni tot begin augustus in Bad Hersfeld in de Duitse deelstaat Hessen. Het festival geniet landelijk bekendheid.
Nadat de stiftskerk van Hersfeld in 1761 bij een brand werd verwoest, was de sacraalbouw al tijdens de Sturm und Drang-periode evenementenplaats van feesten met muziek en koren en nu en dan voorkomende theatervoorstellingen, die werden georganiseerd door de burgers van Hersfeld. In de vormärz vonden in de ruïne politieke manifestaties en bijeenkomsten plaats.
