Het Historisch Stadhuis van Bocholt is een van de belangrijkste historische gebouwen en het symbool van de stad Bocholt. Sinds de gemeente in 1977 naar het "Nieuwe Stadhuis" is verhuisd, heeft het voornamelijk een representatieve functie. In de raadszaal op de tweede verdieping vindt naast culturele evenementen van allerlei aard jaarlijks de nieuwjaarsreceptie van de burgemeester plaats. Ook voor huwelijken wordt het gebouw gebruikt: het huwelijksbureau van Bocholt ligt op de eerste verdieping. De kelder en delen van de begane grond worden gebruikt door een horecabedrijf.
