De Ilsevallei is een wilde en romantische vallei ten zuidwesten van Ilsenburg. De Ilse ontspringt in de buurt van de piek van de Brocken op bijna 1000 meter en stroomt door een bizarre rots landschap naar het noorden.
De manier waarop de weg langs de kleine berg rivier is een van de meest schilderachtige en gevarieerde wandelpaden van de Harz gebergte. Hij is vernoemd naar de beroemde dichter Heinrich Heine, die ooit langs de Ilse van dede berg Brocken naar Ilsenburg liep.
