De vestiging van Siemens AG in Braunschweig gaat terug op de in 1873 opgerichte spoorwegsignaalbouwonderneming Max Jüdel & Co. Het is de grootste locatie ter wereld voor spoorautomatisering en behoort tot de divisie Siemens Mobility van Siemens AG. Het bedrijf bevindt zich aan de Ackerstraße aan de achterzijde van het hoofdstation in de stadswijk Viewegs Garten-Bebelhof.
De spoorweg heeft een lange traditie in Braunschweig, omdat hier op 1 december 1838 de Hertogelijk Braunschweigse Staatseisenbahn, de eerste staatsspoort in Duitsland, de verbinding tussen Braunschweig en Wolfenbüttel opende.
