De Adolfosee is een meer nabij Ratheim in het centrum van de Kreis Heinsberg en ligt direct aan de Rur. Het is bijna L-vormig; de grootste breedte is ongeveer 800 m, de grootste lengtespreiding ongeveer 590 m.
Het meer is een zandwinningsmeer, ontstaan als gevolg van de zand- en grindwinning van het einde van de jaren '60 tot in de jaren '80.
In de beginfase werd het in de volksmond "Lago Laprello" genoemd, zijn officiële naam ontving het later van Adolf Freiherr Spies von Büllesheim uit Ratheim, die in die tijd lid van de Bondsdag voor de Kreis Heinsberg was.
