De Hohlsteinhöhle bevindt zich in het Teutoburger Woud nabij Kohlstädt in de Noordrijn-Westfalen provincie Lippe en is een natuurreservaat en FFH-gebied.
Als een van de meest betekenisvolle grotten in Oost-Westfalen in het spleet-systeem van mergel kalksteen uit het Boven-Krijt werd ze al in 1779 onderzocht. Tegenwoordig is de toegang voor het publiek echter, met enkele uitzondering, verboden, omdat ze als natuurmonument is aangewezen en als overwinteringskwartier voor vleermuizen dient.
